Pubs and Restaurants

There is a good selection of local places to eat, including the following:

The Art House is one of our favourites, it’s relaxed, they use a lot of local produce and the price is good too.

The Ship, Newton-by-the-sea. A wonderful pub that serves excellent food using local produce. A good selection of real ales and sea views from your table. Tel. 01665 576262.

Cook and Barker Inn, Newton on the Moor. This pub is about a ten-minute drive (just off the A1) and serves excellent food. Telephone: 01665 575234.

Cottage Inn, Dunstan Village, Craster. This pub has good food and a great outdoor playground for the children. Telephone: 01665 576658.

Jolly Fisherman, Craster. This pub is recommended by Rick Stein, “the pub looks out over the sea nearby and here you can enjoy some great crab soup, well-filled crab sandwiches and Craster kipper pate”. (Seafood Lovers Guide). We think it’s quite ‘rough and ready’ but worth it for the seafood and beer.

Topsy Turvy Restaurant, Warkworth. Good tearoom during the day (great cakes) and restaurant on an evening.

Warkworth House Hotel - comfortable bar serving traditional pub fayre. Restaurant with fixed price menus.

Tea Cosy Tea Room, Alnmouth – great for light snacks and lunches.

There are also a number of take-aways in Amble.
